In this teaching demonstration, watch as Selena is trying out a new improv exercise with her student.
The student doesn’t immediately follow her instructions. Rather than get frustrated with him or turning this into a power struggle, Selena stays calm and tries to incorporate a little of what he wants to do with her own instructions. She also overtly acknowledges ALL forms of the student’s participation, such as clapping, or saying ‘cookie’. The result? The student does not feel patronised and participates as best he can.
