Upbeat Piano Teachers all started because of questions from piano teachers just like you…
“How do I get more students?” “What app would be good for ___?” “Can someone tell me how to set up a music lab?” “How do you advertise for your studio?” “How do you keep your students engaged?” “Does anyone here know how to run summer music camps?”
What do you get when you combine lots of questions with a super motivated piano teacher who has a background in broadcasting?
Upbeat Piano Teachers kicked off in October 2015 with a series of educational webinars for teachers created by Tracy Selle.
Each webinar featured video interviews and valuable resources from guest expert piano teachers, where they shared answers to the common questions that so many of us independent piano teachers struggle with everyday.
Having been a long-time fan of everything to do with the Upbeat Teacher courses and community built lovingly by Tracy Selle and Sara Campbell over many years, TopMusic was delighted to end 2021 by taking over all the Upbeat assets and making them available to our 1000+ TopMusicPro Members.
“I’m delighted to be able to continue the legacy created by Tracy and Sara and ensure their work continues to be enjoyed by teachers well into the future under the TopMusic Brand,” TopMusic founder Tim Topham stated. “There were always a lot of synergies between our offerings with a focus on creative, modern teaching ideas, innovation and community”.
Here’s what Tracy herself says about why she created UpbeatPianoTeachers:
“I love to help you build your business, enhance your studio, and increase your productivity – while balancing life outside of work!
As a busy piano teacher, I understand that attending conferences can be both time-consuming and expensive, so I’m here to give fellow piano teachers a great alternative, along with amazing resources!
At Upbeat Piano Teachers, it’s not just about an online course. It’s about supporting teachers and working together. I love working one-on-one with our Upbeats in a private online group where we aim to inspire and motivate one another every single day. I can’t wait to get to know you!”
What new piano teaching resources are included?

Since I started TopMusic back in 2010, our mission has always been to inspire and support the instrumental music teachers of the world with great training and resources all wrapped in a thriving and supportive community and that’s exactly what Upbeat was all about too.
While we covered some similar topics like technology and online teaching, Upbeat also had very complimentary offerings on topics such as juggling parenthood and piano teaching, working with preschoolers and a variety of unique bootcamp, bookclub and academy programs with associated Facebook groups.
Any Upbeat Teachers who’d previously purchased materials from upbeatpianoteachers.com were notified about the change in ownership back in October/November 2021 and given time to access and download the resources they needed prior to the change in ownership. Many have now joined as members of TopMusicPro.
“We’d like to welcome any past Upbeat Piano Teachers to come and join us inside TopMusicPro, where you’ll instantly feel right at home! Joining TMP will also give you access to our huge library of 40+ online courses, 30+ discounts, our teaching videos, repertoire detective, roadmap and success path, app and much more.”
