In today’s show, I’m thrilled to have a good friend and a fellow Aussie, Glen Hitchon, join us to share his insightful journey of guitar teaching. He takes us through the captivating chapters of his guitar teaching experience, including what ignited his passion for teaching. He shares with us the incredible impact he strives to make on his students. Be inspired as he unveils the story behind his charity busking endeavor, its components and the process of its creation. He also shares invaluable insights into his teaching approach and offers advice on setting up your teaching venture for success. Finally, Glen takes us behind the scenes of his newly launched YouTube channel, offering a glimpse into his video creation process.
Glen Hitchon is a guitar school owner and teacher with a background in performance, writing and recording as well as radio presentation and production. He helps guitarists on the mid north coast of NSW Australia learn the guitar, have fun, build community and enjoy having the guitar in their lives. Glen has been a guitar teacher since 2014, moving to the Coffs Coast from Sydney and building up his teaching business from scratch. Glen and his wife Aleisha run a thriving school that provides not only musical education but opportunities to perform, write and record. The school provides a wonderful space for the community in their regional town.
Glen has gone back to his roots of broadcasting and presentation, mixing it with his teaching and recently launched the YouTube channel, Guitar Practice Hub. The channel is building an extensive library of guitar practice videos that help people get more practical time on the guitar, being supported through practice sessions where Glen and the student practice together and build up their skills.
