2022 Webinar and Course Schedule

2022 Webinar and Course Calendar Blog
We’re getting a few questions about what’s actually coming up this year, what webinars are we hosting, what courses are we releasing, all that kind of good stuff. So I’m going to show you quickly our course calendar for 2022, which we’ve finally been able to put into place, which I’m super excited about.

February- Studio Success Path

Our topic for February is our Studio Success Path. We’ve created a real system over the six years that we’ve been working with teachers in our TopMusicPro membership. We’ve developed a Studio Success Path. So whatever your measure of success actually is and wherever you are starting, we’ve got a nine-step path to get you to that success point. We’re going to be outlining and explaining it in a webinar that’s going to be coming up right at the start of March. So look out for that.

March- Upbeat Piano Teachers with Tracy Selle

In March, we also are talking about our acquisition of the Upbeat Piano Teachers. You may not know, but the fabulous Tracy Selle and Sara Campbell handed over all of their resources, webinars, courses to us towards the end of last year. Tracy will be on our show, our podcasts, and a webinar to tell us all about the amazing things that she has given to us.

I’m so grateful that that’s been able to happen because I really wanted to continue the work that she did that was so good and quite different to some of the things that we were doing at TopMusic before that.

But we’re going to be providing every single thing that Tracy and Sara put together at the Upbeat Piano Teachers to our members inside TopMusicPro. We are going to be talking about what all the different features are, the different courses, what you can learn, and how it’s important to you in a webinar.

April- Intermediate Students with Janna Williamson

Janna Williamson creates, every month, two videos for our TopMusicPro members. We call them Piece by Piece where she goes through how to teach various pieces of intermediate repertoire. Janna and I are going to be doing masterclasses with students using some of the material from TopMusicSheets, which is our free sheet music resource for our members.

May- Performance Anxiety with Noa Kageyama

Noa Kageyama, The Bulletproof Musician, is working on a course for us at the moment, which I’m really excited by, it’s about performance anxiety, getting the most out of performance, top-level performing, preparing for performance. In May, he’s going to be coming on a webinar for us to talk about that and explain and answer questions.

June- Technique with Fred Karpoff

In June, we’re focusing on technique and Fred Karpoff, who’s working with me on my Tim Gets Taught Series. We’re going to be focusing specifically on a number of elements of technique, those being arpeggios and trills, in particular.

I’m sure there might be some other things that come up like octaves, but we’re going to be at the piano and working through and answering as many questions from teachers as we can about technique.

July- Teacher Training and Credentials

We are going to be explaining more about exactly what that means later on. But we’re working more and more on how we can help, give teachers a bit of a checkbox, as well as the certificates and things that we provide on our webinars and our courses inside our membership, how we can actually combine some of them together in some higher-level training opportunities for teachers.

August- Group Lessons

Not everyone’s up for group lessons but for those of you who are or are interested in it, we’re going to be talking about group lessons and all the different formats for group lessons.

Because when you hear group lessons, some of you may think, I’ve got to be teaching 8 kids at a time, or 10, or 4, or whatever it is. But remember, group lessons is anything more than one, at a time, and sometimes just a crossover period with two students crossing over for 15 minutes.

There’s lots of different names for it, 20/20/20 lessons or buddies or whatever it is, that can be an incredible opportunity for students to become a little bit stickier, stay around longer because they’ve got that social interaction even if it’s for only a short part of their lesson.

September- Romantic Literature with Roza Yoder

We are talking about Romantic Literature, particularly Chopin, who happens to be my favourite composer. We are working with the amazing Roza Yoder from the Chopin Academy. She’s going to be creating some resources for us for our TopMusicPro members. We will be going live on a webinar to answer as many questions about Chopin and advanced techniques.

October- Holiday Music

October is all about Holiday Music in preparation for Christmas.

November- Lesson Planning and Preparation

Goal setting and planning, preparation, lesson planning, and all that kind of stuff is going to be our feature in November when we start preparing for 2023.

December- TopMusic Teacher Awards

TopMusic Teacher Awards is something new. We’re going to be awarding some of the best teachers around the world in December at our awards ceremony. We’ll have more details about the TopMusic Teacher Awards later on in the year because we’re still working on how it’s all going to look and how it will work. But just keep it in the back of your mind as we proceed through the year.

So that’s it. That’s how our year is panning out. I’ll make sure I post a copy of that. If you want to grab a copy and hang on to it, you’re more than welcome to. But yeah, just to kind of reiterate, particularly, we’re looking forward to May when Noa Kageyama, The Bulletproof Musician, will be joining us in creating resources, workshop courses for us, and also Janna in April for our intermediate students and Fred Karpoff for technique in June. It’s going to be great fun. I can’t wait to work with these amazing people.

Hope you can join us. Whether you’re a member or not, it doesn’t really matter because you’re going to get lots of free content. And that’s what I want to give you as much of as I possibly can.

Hope things are going well for you. I know that some of you are feeling the pinch. Times are a bit tough. Students can be a bit hard to pin down sometimes today. And of course, we’ve still got the impact of COVID and lockdowns, isolations and masks. I totally get it. We’re here to help as much as we can.
